AltcoinGordon exists because crypto news moves faster than most newsrooms can verify it. A headline breaks, a chart gets screenshotted, a rumor gets repeated a thousand times before anyone checks where it actually came from — and by the time it’s wrong, it’s already moved markets. We built AltcoinGordon to close that gap: every story that reaches our front page carries an open count of how many independent publishers have corroborated it — and stories rise on the page as that count grows.
We are not here to chase engagement with price predictions or hype cycles. We’re here to answer one question as reliably as possible: did this actually happen, and who confirms it?
How We Work
Source
Every story starts from primary material — exchange disclosures, on-chain data, regulatory filings, official statements, and institutional research — not secondhand social posts.
Verify
Claims are cross-referenced against independent, trusted outlets and datasets. Contradictions between sources are flagged and investigated, not smoothed over.
Publish
We publish single-source reporting and label it as such, rather than presenting it as confirmed. A new story carries New for its first 24 hours and becomes Unproven if nothing corroborates it in that time. It is marked Developing once a second independent publisher carries it, and Verified at three — so you can see the evidence behind a story instead of taking our word for it — see our Verification Center.
Why Signal Over Noise
Crypto media has an incentive problem: outrage and speculation drive clicks faster than accuracy does. We think that trade-off is bad for readers and, over time, bad for the industry it covers. AltcoinGordon is built around the opposite incentive — a story rises on the page as independent publishers confirm it, not as it collects clicks.
