One Crossing Took Fourteen Minutes, Another Took Nearly Nineteen Hours

How fast a claim moved from one publisher to several says more about its evidentiary weight than the claim itself.

A Reserve Denial Reached Five Publishers Before Half an Hour Had Passed

Tether's response to the EQIBank seizure was confirmed by five independent publishers within fourteen minutes of first appearing, moving from Bitcoin.com News and CoinDesk to Cointelegraph, Crypto News Flash and TronWeekly almost simultaneously. That speed tells you something specific: this was a company statement with a single number attached, easy to lift and easy to check, not a claim that needed independent verification before a second newsroom would run it. Fast corroboration of a company's own account of its exposure is not the same as fast corroboration of an outside fact. It confirms that Tether said what it said, across eight feeds, not that the 0.034% figure has been independently tested.

The Fed's Stablecoin Rules Moved From Two Outlets to Eight Overnight

The GENIUS Act reserve and capital proposal reached eight independent publishers by the next morning, up from two within hours of the first report, with American Banker and Banking Dive breaking it before Crypto Daily, Cryptopolitan and NewsBTC folded it in through the day. That combination, a fast first crossing followed by a wide eventual spread, is the strongest pattern of the four stories here: it means the claim was verifiable quickly and kept being independently checked rather than just repeated. Nothing in that spread tells us what the rules will require in final form. It does tell us this is the story with the most independent sets of eyes on the same regulatory text before it goes further.

The White House AI Story Still Has Not Crossed Three Outlets Cleanly

BeInCrypto's report that the White House pushed Anthropic and OpenAI to withhold models from the UK took over fifteen hours to gain even one additional outlet and still capped at three publishers, with Forkast and The Cryptonomist EN the only others to carry it. A gap that long, on a claim whose underlying reasoning was never disclosed, is not evidence the report is wrong. It is evidence that other newsrooms either could not confirm the sourcing or chose not to run with it on BeInCrypto's account alone. Three publishers after fifteen hours is a thinner base than eight after the same window, and that difference should shape how much weight a reader puts on it.

The Bitget Attribution Took Most of a Day to Be Independently Confirmed

Bitget's CEO named North Korean hackers as very likely responsible for the $350 million breach, and that attribution took nearly nineteen hours to reach seven independent publishers, from AMBCrypto and BeInCrypto through to CryptoSlate and Cryptonews.com. That is the widest eventual spread of the four stories but also the slowest to get there, which fits a claim of state-linked attribution rather than a company disclosure: harder to verify, so outlets took longer before running it themselves. Seven independent publishers is a meaningful convergence once it arrives. It arrived a full day after the first report, not within the hour, and that lag is itself part of what the record shows.

Of the four, the Fed's stablecoin proposal has both the fastest initial crossing and the widest eventual spread, which makes it the one item here worth treating as reasonably settled fact rather than early report; the AI withholding claim, still capped at three publishers after fifteen hours, is the one to keep labelled unconfirmed.
