SpaceX

About this topic

SpaceX is private, which means almost everything published about its finances is reported rather than filed. Outside investors disclose their positions, though, and those disclosures are documents — which is why a stake reported by a public company is a different class of evidence from a valuation attributed to people familiar with the matter.

What we track on this desk

Disclosed holdings. Stakes that appear in a public company’s own filings, including Nvidia‘s.
Secondary-market pricing. Tender offers and share sales, and what they imply about valuation.
Starlink economics. Subscriber and revenue reporting, and how firmly sourced it is.
Retail access vehicles. Funds and trackers offering indirect exposure.

How to read a SpaceX story here
The recurring problem is that a single reported valuation becomes a fact through repetition. Ten outlets citing the same round are not ten confirmations, and our publisher count is measured by newsroom rather than by article so that the difference is visible on the page.
Where a number comes from a filing, we say which filing. Where it comes from people familiar with the matter, we say that instead, and we do not smooth the two into the same sentence.

See Nvidia for the disclosed stake, or the Markets desk for the listed vehicles that track it.
